Good morning, Maine CP,
As we begin the month of September we recall that on September 1, 1961, William Z. Foster (80) passed away in the Soviet Union where he had previously relocated to seek medical treatment. He was interred in the Kremlin.
Born in 1881, Foster became one of the most innovative labor organizers, before he became General Secretary of the CPUSA.
Reflecting upon the anniversary of Foster’s passing, his legacy and the struggle of Industrial Unionism which continues today compels me to spotlight the following webinar: ‘William Z. Foster and Industrial Unionism,’ which explores his organizing of industrial workers and the tenets of industrial unionism today.
